In this day and age many people really don’t have the time to manage their dental health as well as they probably should. For these people the best ways to manage it may not seem obvious, but the reality is that it is as simple as making a few small changes and being prepared. Here is my little guide to some very quick dental tips for busy people.
Drink more water
Drinking water is a great way to not only stay hydrated but also to clear your mouth of excess food, bacteria and plaque. By drinking more water you can really function better and this is especially important for a person that is very busy. We all know that we should drink more water, but here are some more reasons just to do it.
Take a toothbrush with you
Many people use the excuse that they can’t brush their teeth because they didn’t have their toothbrush with them at the time. If this is you, you need to simply buy another toothbrush and there can be no excuses. It is very simple to go to a bathroom somewhere and simply brush your teeth and it only takes two minutes after you eat your lunch. Nobody is two busy to brush their teeth for two minutes!
Setting an alarm on your phone or calendar on your computer is the ideal way to remind yourself that you need to brush or floss, or even drink water. When you are extremely busy, you probably don’t really think about this and you forget to keep a normal routine. The point is that plaque and bacteria can never be too busy and you need to constantly fight with them to keep them at bay. When you do this you form a strong routine that you know you should follow and it will become easier with time.
Chew some gum
It isn’t always possible to brush your teeth at any given moment, so the next best thing is naturally to chew some gum. Chewing gum clears the mouth of plaque and also acts to help you to produce saliva, which in turn helps to reduce the ability of plaque and bacteria to form in the mouth.
