Once you’ve set your budget here is a 5 point process that you should go through before buying anything.

1) Length

This is an easy rule to remember – where ever the bottom of your bag sits on your body is the part of your body that is going to be accentuated. Going from this rule if you have small hips a bag that sits on your hips is perfect. If you have larger hips then a bag that sits on your waist line will work very well.

2) Size

Don’t always just go with the latest fashion craze. A very small bag will just be lost if being carried by a very tall lady, on the flip side a large bag will look like it is swamping and overwhelming someone who is short.

3) Shape

It’s always a good idea to choose a bag that is going to compliment your body shape. All you need to do is consider the shape of your body and then go out and choose a handbag that is the opposite. An example would be that if you are both a slim and tall person you should look to carry a bag that is rounded and slouchy.

4) Style

Again you need to reflect on yourself first before making a choice, thing about your style. If you’re the type of lady that likes to wear casual clothing regularly then a formal handbag really isn’t going to work for you. Get something that matches your style and don’t just go with the latest trends,  you want to be carrying a bag that has ‘a bit of you’ in it.

5) Usage

We’ve left one of the most important parts until last because at the end of the day you will be using your bag to carry essentials around with you. So ask yourself, why do I need this hand bag? Then you will be able to work out how many compartments you need, does it need to have a protective pocket for a tablet or small lap top?
