A Guide To Los Angeles

The city of angels is one of the most majestic and special cities on the entire planet and when you see it you will know the reason why. This post is inspired by my last few visits to what has become a very special place to me, I hope you enjoy reading about it.

Getting to the city

A Los Angeles airport transfer is the perfect way to get straight into the city and to start enjoying your trip. For me, it is such a great feeling to walk straight out of the airport and see somebody holding a sign with your name on it. The last time I was lucky enough to try out Blacklane, which offers airport transfers from professional drivers and is available in over 200 cities in the world, so you could potentially use this in any city that you visit.

When to travel

The summer months in LA are my absolute favourite, especially if you like the beach. The west coast of the United States is world famous for its great beaches and relaxed surf culture. There really isn’t anything like driving along the California State Route 1, which spans most of the coastline of California, with the sun shining and the magnificent coastline to marvel at.

Things to see

Los Angeles is home to many of the rich and famous, many of which live in Malibu or the surrounding area. Malibu is a great place to see where these stars live, as well as enjoying a stunning beach that everyone can enjoy. There are just so many things to do in, but my favourites are visiting the “Hollywood” sign and walking around Griffith Park whilst you are there, visiting Universal Studios or making a trip down to Anaheim to visit the world famous Disneyland.

If you are more into the art scene there is plenty of places to see, such as the Getty Center, Getty Villa, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and many more. The architecture of Los Angeles is also something that I find to be very interesting and is always great to look at. The city features skyscrapers, stunning mansions, modern apartment buildings, Californian bungalows and much more.

Shopping

Californians are well known for their love of shopping and you can really see this everywhere with huge shopping malls everywhere. There really is something here for every kind of shopper, from malls to luxury boutiques, like the ones that proudly sit next to each other on Rodeo drive.
